We recently graduated from University College Dublin with our Master of Arts in Cultural Policy and Arts Management and wanted to continue the discussion post degree. A little about us-
Sheelan: Sheelan was born in Tehran, Iran, but has spent most of her life in Dublin. She completed her B.A. degree in Genetics at Trinity College prior to starting her graduates studies in UCD. Her interest in arts and culture stems from her diverse background and involvement in setting up a Middle Eastern cultural festival called “Nowruz- The Festival of Spring”. Sheelan has worked a mediator in the Science Gallery, spent six months in the Irish parliament as parliamentary assistant and recently interned at the Chester Beatty Library.
Val: Val grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and has her B.A. in Theatre and International Business. She has worked in programming and development for community organizations, non-profit theatres and even gardening apps. Prior to grad school, she was professionally acting and directing youth theatre. In addition to her time in Chicago, she has lived in the Czech Republic, Mallorca, and Dublin.
